About Me

My photo
John Kovach
A retired sociology professor in the Philadelphia, PA area, I began working with metal in 2006, while taking continuing education classes at University of the Arts in Philadelphia with sculptors Barry Parker, Alex Gartelmann and Joe Mooney. I have exhibited pieces at juried exhibitions and have several permanent public art installations in the Philadelphia area.. I believe that, ideally, art should engage some magic. In my work, I mindfully confront basic elements of steel, aluminum and stone and find within them, their antithesis—warmth and weightless, non-static figurative motion and “dance”.
